Pairing beer and CHEESE

For those of you who think that wine is the ultimate beverage to pair with cheese, think again.

I’m not hating on wine. I LOVE wine, but beer has an equally deserving place at the side of your favorite cheeses.

Cheese for me is heaven. It satisfies my love for everything savory. I would seriously take a big hunk of cheese over dessert any day. Weird, I know. I recently read Cheese & Beer by Janet Fletcher – the perfect intro level book for beer and cheese pairing, which inspired me to write this post. If you’re really interested in the topic, I would highly recommend it – great pictures and fantastic, straight forward advice.

Beer Diary, Phoenix beer adventures (Part 2 of 3).

Yay! Part 2. Exciting stuff. This is the part where I get to tell you about a new (to me) microbrewery in Phoenix, AZ, Sun Up Brewing.

Sun Up Brewing AZ

Amber Barley “Beerisotto” topped with Grilled Scallions and Chicken with Amber Parmesan Cream Sauce

We might need to re-name this blog, “lovebeerlovetraderjoes.” LBLTJ. Rolls right off the tongue.

If someone could tell me how to get them to pay me, that would be great though). Continue reading Amber Barley “Beerisotto” topped with Grilled Scallions and Chicken with Amber Parmesan Cream Sauce

Crispy Prosciutto and Brie Panini on Garlic Rosemary Bread

This is not just a sandwich, people. Goodness no.

Prosciutto Brie Sandwich

It is sooooo much more. Firstly, because I have a weird obsession with making each bite in a sandwich the same, aka doing it the right way. Secondly, remember my favorite nearly-no knead bread? Well this time I added rosemary and whole garlic cloves before kneading  ’cause I’m crazy like that. Lastly, in case you aren’t convinced, I went ahead and made my own mayo. I found a practically fool proof recipe which has kind of made my life. I know I exaggerate a touch, but I am truly a mayo fiend. I am that creepy person who dips her french fries in mayo, slathers it on sandwiches, and requests extra at restaurants. Ew, I know, I’m the worst.
