A blog about making things - one small batch at a time

I’m not gonna lie.

My husband and I have been seriously slacking on our home-brewing. You see, after we brewed four 5-gallon batches of beer for our wedding (yes, we are awesome), we burnt out for a bit. Luckily, the empty tap in our home has been mocking us quietly to the point where slacking is no longer an option.

That middle tap is just so sad. And yea, that’s my dining room. I have beer on tap at my house. The hubs built that puppy from scratch. See why I married him? *Winning*

The other motivator for brewing is, we came up with a kick-ass idea for our next beer: a chai latte milk stout. For those of you who have not experienced the joy of chai, I seriously urge you to get some high quality milk-steeped chai tea STAT. This dynamite beverage has cardamom, cinnamon, pepper, clove, mixed with black tea and sweet milk. I am literally salivating thinking about it.

We also have ingredients for two of our favorite go-to-brews: a double IPA we fondly call our “house” beer, and an imperial red with some serious caramel character. YUM. Stay tuned for what is sure to be an epic Octobrew, however delayed…
